CHAPTER 1: CELL STRUCTURE
The pictures above are of the test and quiz for this chapter. The main focus of this chapter was to learn the basic vocabulary and structure of living cells in order to get an initial understanding of the field of biology. As you can see by looking at the vocabulary quiz, I fully comprehend basic words in biology. This then enabled me to get a 90% on the test. I received this grade because I did not go into enough detail to explain an answer to a question, and I also had trouble remembering the purpose of a few organelles. For example, one error I made was on question 4. I stated one function of the edomembrane system, but I failed to go into more detail and explain that it allowed for compartmentalization. If I were to have answered question 4 correctly, I would have said this:
The endomembrane system allows for the exchange of material in and out of organelles. This allows for compartmentalization, which involves the division of cell organelles so that specific functions in different parts of the cell can be performed simultaneously.
By looking at my mistakes, I now feel that I have a renewed understanding of the basics of biology and how exactly living things are able to function on a fundamental level.
