CHAPTER 12: INFECTIOUS DISEASES
A pathogen is an organism that can cause a disease (i.e. virus, bacteria, ect). Humans are exposed to a wide variety of pathogens that our immune system can not handle. Most of the time these are some sort of infectious disease. An infectious disease is a communicable disease caused by a pathogen. This means that they can be transferred from human to human rather easily. Pathogens can be thought of as Mother Nature's population control.
There are four pathogens/diseases talked about in this chapter:
By examining the test, you will see that I defined what each of these are caused by, what they can do, what treatments there are, and whether or not there are any treatment methods available. These pathogens are dangerous to humans, and when they are not handled properly they have a serious effect on the world economically, socially, and population wise. By understanding what each of these pathogens are and what they can do, proper steps can be taken to make sure that humans do not suffer.
